I have been coming here enough times to definitively say that this place is a five out of five! The service is on point and friendly every single time we come in. They have an amazing array of donuts, the prices are very reasonable, but there is one thing sometimes it gets so busy that you might have to come back for the best of the best donuts. They deserve a bigger parking lot for the amount of business that they do! I 100% advise coming to this spot when you want a delicious fresh donut.

Alright now I understand why people have been raving over this spot on Yelp. Early on a Saturday afternoon we decided to treat ourselves and grab some donuts. We came across this spot and figured we would give it a shot and we will 100% be back very soon! It is a small spot but with a counter full of delishness. We definitely got more donuts than we needed and don't holes which of course we finished on our drive back home. They have a variety of drinks in the fridge as well as fresh coffee. Since we bought a ton of donuts we still have more to eat for the weekend! Service was super quick and even in the afternoon they had plenty of fresh donuts in the case. It may not look like much from the outside but go inside and see all of the incredible flavor they have.

Delicious donuts and even better Vietnamese iced coffee! The only reason Golden Donut doesn't get 5 stars from me is because the service is barely a step above being straight up rude. The person taking my order was pushy and short when I was literally the only customer in the store. I'm sure I'll go back eventually, but it's not a pleasant experience to go to Golden Donut.

Most excellent donuts and customers are served so efficiently. I had four people ahead of me but I was finished and out of there faster than other shops could have done if I were the only customer. The donuts are amazing and so so fresh!!!! Located at University and Texas streets.

Initially, I didn't LOVE Golden Donut. It just felt like another donut shop. It was good. Now that I've been in SD for a few years and have lost count of how many times I've stopped by Golden Donut for a quick treat and Thai tea, it feels like one of my all-time favorite donut shops. Is it the kind of ultra-trendy, Instagrammable donut shop with crazy flavor combinations and toppings piled on every donut? Nope. This is your classic shop with all the traditional options. My first visit didn't feel memorable; they were good donuts, better than Dunkin', but I think I wanted the razzle-dazzle from some of the more gourmet donut shops in the area. Now that the novelty from those shops has worn off, I don't want extra sugar piled on my sugar dough. I really want a classic donut most of the time. I can never leave with just 1-2 donuts from Golden Donut because I know I'll want more later. They have become my standard of comparison to other traditional donut shops, and they win (almost) every time. They have a parking lot if you're not walking from the surrounding neighborhood. The prices are good, and the donuts are fantastic. Service is fast and friendly. If it looks like there is a line out the door, don't worry about it because only a few people can fit in the shop at a time.

Ham and cheese was fluffy and crunchy! Warm it up and it will taste even better! The donuts were soft, everyone loved it. The people were super friendly and helpful! Love coming here when I am in the area. Small, clean little shop. If you have allergies, they don't cross contaminate and just ask for new tongs when grabbing certain donuts. They were super nice about our allergies!

I can't say enough good things about this place. It's a typical family-run donut shop with amazing, exceptional coffee and donuts. I try to come at least once per week to get a coffee treat and maybe a little sweet on the side. Their donuts are fresh and made daily, and lately they've been offering homemade banana bread (they sell a whole loaf for $30). The coffee is made to order as well and always the perfect ratio of coffee to cream/milk. It's like when you just see the color and you know it's gonna smack. I already can't wait for this week's visit. The ladies are friendly but prompt and quick, they don't mess around so know what you want and be clear about what you're ordering. There is almost always a line and they go in order of when you get there, even if it's just a coffee. They have some seating with people occasionally sitting and enjoying their goodies, but most people seem to order and bounce. Caveat, is that parking in this lot sucks. It's a strip mall so it's shared with several other businesses and the coin op is usually popping. There is minimal street parking, but just be aware and cautious when driving in this area.

DELICIOUS DONUTS & COFFEE! This place has quite possibly the best donuts I have tried in San Diego. Their Maple Old Fashioned .. SOOO GOOD! Also, their Vietnamese Coffee is absolutely DELICIOUS! 1000/10 would recommend coming here! Bonus -- there is plenty of parking out front!

Really enjoyed my experience at Golden Donut. Was met with kind smiles behind the counter and from other customers. Overall a really cozy spot bustling with regulars who helped me choose what I wanted to eat! The croissants were delectable. So delicious! Coffee was amazing. Can't wait to become a regular.

In a moment of insanity, I volunteered to do coffee and donuts for my kids' school PTA. The person who had the task before us recommended Golden Donuts, and we figured... If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Never thought I would be complementing a donut place on efficiency, but when you're in a rush trying to buy a large quantity of donuts in the morning... Turns out a lot of other people are, too. I ran in, running late and there were three or four people ahead of me in line. I swear I was in and out of that place in under 90 seconds. 5 dozen delicious donut holes purchased quickly via Apple Pay. Looking forward to doing it again next month! I'll have to try some of their other donuts, as well. ...For science.
